Thetis Island Regatta May - 9-10-11 2008
Thetis Island Marina and the Ladysmith Yacht Club have hosted a regatta which includes a race around both Thetis and Kuper Islands. This regatta first ran 14 years ago, and each year proves to be one of the best social sailing meets anywhere. The regatta takes place on the second weekend of May each and every year, and includes registration on Friday, race on Saturday, and departure Sunday.

- Cost to register is $60.00 per boat and includes dinner for the skipper.
- Additional dinner tickets for crew can be purchased on arrival for $15.00 each.
- Dinner tickets must be bought prior to the race on Saturday.
- For those with unique dietary requirements, please notify us at least a week prior so we can provide an alternate meal.
Itinerary
- Registration is from 4pm Friday until 10pm Friday.
- Skippers can pre-register via mail or fax, and their forms will be waiting for them at the registration desk. Just pay your entry fee and you are done.
- Breakfast starts at 0730 Saturday. Pay at the bar.
- The pre-race briefing starts at 0900, and the race commences at 10:30.
- The start point is off Preedy Harbour, so allow time to transit out there. Usually about 15 or 20 minutes.
- The race runs in classes, with the slowest starting first. The race will have two finish lines, with the shorter one being used in light wind conditions. Official stop time is 17:30.
- The dinner barbecue is at 6:30 pm and is finished at 7:30 pm. Following the dinner there is live music, dancing etc. until midnight.
- Sunday, breakfast starts at 09:00 until 10:30. Pay at the bar. Departure any time thereafter.
